Childhood & Early Life & Education

Adam Driver was born in San Diego, California on November 19, 1983. His family is Joe Douglas Driver and Nancy Wright and got divorced when Adam was a child. His mother worked as a paralegal and then married a minister at a Baptist church, Rodney G. Wright.

When Adam was 7 years of age, the family left California and his mother took Adam and his sister to her home state, Indiana. There, he joined the “Mishawaka High School”, which laid the foundation for his future acting career. Also graduated from high school, he had started trying to become a serious actor. He soon applied to the ‘Juilliard School,’ the best acting school in New York. but, his application was rejected.

Fake Adam did not lose hope and soon decided to move to Los Angeles. Around the same time, the 9/11 terrorist attacks took place, shaking the whole US and the world. Adam was deeply affected too, he applied to the American military and gave up acting. And he joined the “United States Marine Crops”.

Adam Driver enjoyed his stint with the military. Then, an unfortunate mountain bike accident ended his days in the army. Adam was honorably discharged and then joined the ‘University of Indianapolis’ for a year. Bored of the university, he decided to give his old love, acting, another shot and applied to the ‘Juilliard School’ again. His application was accepted this time around.

Career Life

Following his 2009 graduation from Juilliard, Driver began acting onstage in New York City, making his Broadway debut in a 2010 production of George Bernard Shaw’s Mrs. Warren’s Profession. He also appeared in minor roles on television. His first film appearance was in a minor part in Clint Eastwood’s biopic J. Driver made his Broadway debut in Mrs. Warren’s Profession (2010) and subsequently appeared in Man and Boy 2011. He rose to prominence with a supporting role in the HBO comedy-drama series Girls 2012–2017, for which he received three consecutive Primetime Emmy nominations.

Achievements.

For his role as Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Driver received a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor, one Teen Choice Award, and an MTV Movie Award while for Jim Jarmusch’s drama Paterson he received multiple nominations for Best Actor from critics associations, winning several.

In 2018, Driver received several nominations for his performance in the film BlacKkKlansman including Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, BAFTA Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Personal Life

In 2013, He dated Joanne Tucker for almost a decade before eventually marrying her. The family lives in Brooklyn with their pet dog Moose, a Pit-bull–Rottweiler mix. The couple has a son.

He is a great admirer of the armed forces, as he learned to appreciate them during his years in the army. He has founded ‘Arts in the Armed Forces,’ a company that organizes free theatrical shows for American army men stationed in the US or abroad.
