A computer serial number is required after being compelled to upgrade BIOS or download several Driver Software. It is mainly found on the sticker attached to the system, but what if the sticker gets fades or is removed from the system? In such case, you won’t be able to find the Serial Number of your system.
You can get it by using settings or going to the system information screen. There are many ways to find the number of methods to find Serial Number of your system like checking the sticker on the box, checking registration and warranty documents, checking the battery compartment and case, etc. If you are unable to find the serial number of your system through the above-listed method, you can find it via the command prompt:

Follow the steps below to find the Serial Number of your system using the WMIC command
Step 1:
Open a ‘Command Prompt’, ‘PowerShell’, or “Windows Terminal on Windows 11, Windows 10 or Windows 8 by right-clicking on the start button. On Windows 7, press Windows+R and type “cmd” into the Run dialogue and press Enter button on the keyboard.
Step 2:
On the Command Prompt screen, type “wmic bios get serialnumber” and press the enter key on your computer’s keyboard.
Step 3:
Once the command is executed, it will list your computer’s Serial Number below the “SerialNumber” entry on the Command Prompt screen.
If the WMIC command does not show the Serial Number on your system, it is most likely that the manufacturer of your computer has not saved the Serial Number to BIOS/UEFI Firmware.
